SC Extends Voters Registration until January 9, 2010

Voters for the May 10, 2010 elections can register until January 9, 2010.

Finding the petition impressed with merit, the Supreme Court, by a unanimous vote, today granted the petition to extend the voters registration and declared null and void the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Resolution No. 8585 insofar as it set the deadline of voter registration for the 2010 polls on October 31, 2009.

OVCSA Dialogue Updates

OVCSA meeting last Monday:
UHS-OCG: They are currently developing a module to screen people infected with STDs and provide counselling for affected individuals.
OSA: Paper less org recognition will continue for the coming semesters. Meanwhile, the system will be improved on in time for the 1st semester of 2010. Organization recognition certificates are available for claiming starting Dec. 16
OSS: The short term loan which was previously at the amount of 1,000 pesos has been increased to 3,000 pesos. Proceed to OSS to avail of this.
Vinzons: Free use of Activity Center, Rooftop, and Alcantara Hall is already in effect. Process will be redesigned in order to cut down on the number of steps necessary in reserving the venue for use.

Food concessionaire moratorium is still being implemented.

Road Closure on December 2

Please take note of the following temporary closure of streets on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 due to some events happening on campus:

1) Portions of University Avenue from 2pm - 10pm in view of the Pag - Ilaw.
2) Portions of Magsaysay and F. Ma. Guerrero Streets from 9am - 2pm in view of the inauguration of the GT-Toyota Asian Cultural Center. Shuster and Quirino Streets shall be open to traffic as alternative access to and from the campus.

Please check out the bulletin boards for exact portions to be temporarily closed.

The Total Approach to Job Application, more popularly know as TAJA is the third step in CAP's six-step program. SE RVC Announcement

We will only accommodate late payment, change mat, and form 5 checking tomorrow, November 11, 2009. For those who still have not paid, get the appeal for late payment form (blue), fill out the necessary information and have it stamped at SE 101. After that, proceed to OUR for their approval. We will only process change of matriculation and form 5 checking upon presentation of pink form approved by the OUR. Please be guided accordingly. Thanks.

UPSE 2nd Sem Org Fair

We'll be having our traditional organizational fair to kick off the semester. As usual, we'll have our parade during the launch followed by pakain. Registration and Payment Extended

Registration and payment for the 2nd semester of AY 09-10 has been extended until Tuesday, November 10. Students may continue to enlist classes via e-prerog. Meanwhile, payments made until Tuesday will not be considered late. Payment made afterwards would require an appeal for late payment which can be made in your respective colleges.

Additional Security for Kamia and Sampa

A request has been made to add another security personnel for the Kamia and Sampaguita Resdicence Halls during the morning (7 AM - 7 PM) shift. At present, the neighboring dorms share one security personnel at the said time. Hopefully, the additional personnel would be in place in time for the start of classes when dormers head back to UP Diliman.

Only graduating and freshman students are allowed to e-prerog on 3 november 2009 in all colleges. Regular students ( except cross-reg, special students and non-degree) can e-prerog starting 4 to 6 november. Cross registrants, special students, and non-degree students can prerog only on the 6th.

SE-RVC Registration Guidelines and Procedures

WHAT TO BRING DURING THE REGISTRATION PERIOD:
Black ballpoint pen
Valid I.D. (e.g. school, driver's license, passport, etc.)
Other necessary documents (ex: those from LOA, proxy letters, etc.)

OTHER REMINDERS:
Please be acquainted with your zip code and STFAP bracket (if applicable)
Make sure that your information via the CRS is correct (esp. grade/s of prerequisite subject/s for subjects you are going to take)

FORM 5 ACCOMPLISHMENT GUIDELINES:
Use BLACK BALL POINT pen ONLY
Make sure all three pages are aligned
Make sure that all information in all 3 pages is clear, readable, and fit in the space provided.
Please place the x marks within the boxes specified in all three pages.
Write Self-Advised for Signature and Printed name of adviser
For the Scholarship/ Privilege section, kindly put a --- on the space provided (if not applicable).
If there is any question or if the form is accomplished, please raise your hand to attract the attention of the RVC.

Special Cases
1. For students graduating this semester, please cross mark the blank box and write graduating for the Year level portion in the second half..

2. For graduating student who are underloaded, simply write graduating as the reason.

3. For Dependent students, please write dependent on the Scholarship/ Privilege section.

4. If your STFAP bracket is C, D, or E, please proceed to Vinzons Hall for verification of STFAP bracket.

5. For students with STFAP brackets please indicate your current STFAP bracket.

Econ199 Enlistment Reminders:
*VERY IMPORTANT*
Graduating students who are going to take Econ 199 may sign up in the PRELIMINARY ENLISTMENT SHEET, provided the ff:
1) they arrive ON or BEFORE 7:30am, on November 3 (Tuesday)
2) they are queued in front of SE 127
3) that the prerequisites have been met (Note that the grade should be posted in the CRS)
4) that partners should be both present if thesis will be done in pairs *PROXIES WILL NOT BE ENTERTAINED*
5) that there is no conflict with another subject
6) there is no overloading
7)they have listed Econ 199 in their latest ESFs.

*Students who have signed up in the preliminary sheet are AUTOMATICALLY enlisted and SHOULD COME BACK at 10:30am of the said date at SE 103.
Upon returning, registrants must already have their Form5As and accomplished EPS.
Failure to return at the said time will mean FORFEITURE OF THE SLOT.
If in pairs, partners must BOTH COME BACK.

GUIDELINES FOR REGISTRATION
1. No verification of grades will be issued at SE .
Bring all necessary documents.

2. No priority list will be honored.
Registration is strictly on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED basis.

3. Proxy letters (original and 2 photocopies) must be countersigned at SE . A proxy can register a maximum of 2 persons; he can only register himself and another student.

4. Please comply with the SE-RVC rules and regulations.

UPSE Registration Procedures

1. Scan the list of eligible students (refer to the Master list)
a. If your name is on the list and all the information (i.e. course and year level) are correct, get your Form 5A. Make sure that you have no unsettled accountabilities, If you have a deficiency, ask what it is, settle it, then present the proof or receipt at SE101 to secure a clearance.
b. If your name is on the list, but the information is wrong, request for a VERIFICATION OF STANDING at SE.
c. If you are not on the list, proceed to SE101.
2. To get your Form 5A, attend the proper regmat distribution session assigned to your batch. If you missed your respective session, proceed to SE . In any case, present your ID (and clearance, if any).
3. Attend the proper e-prerog enlistment session at SE for addition of subjects. For cancellations, proceed to the UPSE Comp Lab. Or you may access your accounts using computers with access to the Dilnet.
4. If you are satisfied with your schedule, proceed to SEand ask for the official UP FORM 5.
5. Proceed to SE Lib for LIBRARY CLEARANCE
6. Proceed to SE for SIDHI & COUNCIL STAMPS
7. Proceed to SE for FORM 5 CHECKING
8. Proceed to SE for ASSESMENT
9. PAYMENT

List of Accepted ID's
· UP I.D. (Polaroid and Temporary)
· Library ID's from other colleges
· Driver's license
· I.D. certification duly assigned by the College Secretary.
· Passport

E-PREROG PROCEDURES for ECON SUBJECTS
NOT YET PAID
· Get a Prerog Form at SE
· If slots are still available, line up at SE for E-Prerog Enlistment.
· If there are no slots left, have your professors sign it, then proceed to SE for E-Prerog Enlistment.

PAID
· If slots are still available, get an Add Mat Form at SE then proceed to SE for E-Prerog Enlistment. Go back to SE for stamps.
· If there are no slots left, proceed to SE to get an Add Mat Form. Have your professors sign it, then proceed to SE for E-Prerog Enlistment. Go back to SE for stamps.

Tuition Fee Payment Through Banks

For the Second Semester 2009-2010 Registration Period, students can pay in any of the following PAYMENT CENTERS:

  • UP Cashier's Office
  • UP Office of the University Registrar
  • Land Bank of the Philippines (all branches nationwide)
  • Development Bank of the Philippines (all branches nationwide)


Note however that:
  1. Only the exact, University-assessed tuition fee should be paid at all payment centers.
  2. Payment centers will only accept cash, Cashier's Checks, or Manager's Checks. Personal checks, company checks, credit cards or other forms of payment will not be accepted.
  3. You should NOT make your payment through the bank if:
    • You're availing of a student loan, scholarship, reduced fees and other privileges
    • You cannot pay the full amount
    • You are making a late payment for a previous semester
    • You are paying for a Change of Matriculation or other fees

Back Parking Lot CLOSED on November 3 and 4

Dear All,

The parking lot at the back of Encarnacion Hall will be closed for renovation on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Since the required amount of gravel is more than what we originally anticipated, we now have to place a bigger order and thus follow the usual bidding process. Sorry for the inconvenience.
